"Keep Calm and Carry On"
After seeing all of these memes using it (and frankly ruining what it really meant) I am curious if people actually realize what it meant in Britain.
Back in World War 2 during the blitz (the bombing of London and Britain throughout the war), the government released posters to keep morale up among the population and among them was "Keep Calm and Carry on". It merely meant to act as if nothing was wrong and to live there lives as normally as they could.
I just hate seeing people ruin history and deface it through abominations like "Keep Calm and Swag on" which makes no sense, and I guarantee you 90% of people using these memes have no idea where it originally came from.

It's not a part of history, only around a thousand or two were made at the time and they weren't even used as motivational posters. In fact, fairly sure if my memory is correct they weren't even seen by the public. Then a few years ago, someone found one of the copies in an old box somewhere, thought it looked cool so he framed it and put it up in his shop. It attracted so much interest that he ended up selling it - the rest is ancient history. ...so is it defacement?
