So I've picked up an old skateboard and am using it recreationally, around the neighbourhood, to the bus stop, etc. I'm fine with balance and speed, but can't stop when going downhill to save a life unless I jump the fence and bail onto someone's garden (not recommended if there's a bloody dog in there). Every attempt to make a controlled slide stop ends in tears. What do I do? The hills around my area are 10-15 degrees on average, if that helps.
On a related note: Does anyone skateboard around here? Know any tricks?

I use it,that is a good start,if you can,try to use other bearings(currently using abec 9,you might want to downgrade and practice, and then when you are confident that you're really capable, upgrade and have fun)
