So, was reading the IGN blog and came across this:
Each of these players which appear will be one of three classes; Titan, Warlock or Hunter. While these are your standard fare, they complement each other rather nicely. What really help to set them apart though are the Supers, a mechanic which provides each class with a unique skill. Examples such as the Warlock’s Nova Bomb reveal just how powerful these attacks are, and it can be assumed that an equally punishing cool-down accompanies it.
So is our beloved Space Magic no more? Nobody wants to say look at my new super like.

Supers seem to be the Space Magic that requires the use of pressing both of the bumpers, in general Space Magic can still be used to speak about these abilities.

This will be me whenever I play Destiny: MESSATSU! (Prepares to Nova Bomb) TENMA GOU ZANKU! (Explosions)

I saw somewhere (not exactly sure, and too lazy to look it up) a spoiled controller setup, and how the characters access each of their abilities. from what i saw, they each have up to 3 unique abilities available at any given time. There's a movement ability (ie: warlock's hover-ability), a lesser ability (warlock's solar flare) and the super (warlock's nova bomb). So some space magic is still not classified as a super, but the "coolest" stuff is, for the most part.

They can call it whatever official title they like space magic is my name for it and shall remain as such, that's the point of it all call it what you would like to. #Spacemagic.
-
Call it both but I like "supers" a little bit more
-
Not all the "Supers" are neccessarily Space Magic.
-
It's probably just a term they are using.
-
i think you'll have three abilities equipped at a time, with the one mapped to pressing LB and RB the most powerful one and known as the super. The other ones will most be probably known as abilities. Why would you call a bubble shield or a mobility upgrade ability like glide a super?

Its space magic bro it will always be so

What's Montague? it is nor hand, nor foot, Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part Belonging to a man. O, be some other name! What's in a name? that which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet; So Romeo would, were he not Romeo call'd, Retain that dear perfection which he owes Without that title. Romeo, doff thy name, And for that name which is no part of thee Take all myself.
Bow.

I didn't expect it to literally be called "Space magic" in-game. Bungie is just calling it that to prove the point "This is not technology, this is your typical fantasy magic in a sci-fi setting."
-
Yep, supers = space magic. Honestly, I like the new "terms" better. Except "Golden Gun". I get the Golden Eye reference, that's cool, but they could have come up with a better name.

Space magic is tiger man.
-
Supers are the space magic that fall under holding L1+R1 or LB+RB. You can still call it space magic if you want though. [:

'space magic' was always an inside joke, not the real name. But I think supers are just a part of space magic
