A commercial for a learning program for kids came on, and this is what the first few lines of dialogue were:
I was worried...That he was going to become a TV kid, who just sits in front of the TV all day.
I disregarded the entire rest of the commercial because of the plain absurdity of those lines of dialogue from that mother, and the issues with it are beyond ridiculous.
1. What? Was the kid going to figure out how to pay for satellite or cable?
2. Then set up the software and TV for it as well?
3. And then direct himself to channels for him to watch all day and night with you having no power in the situation?
Parents, when your kid is that young(I'd say the boy was under ten easily), you have control over their lives! They do not do what they want to, they do what you want to! They're young and barely learning how to use the toilet, and you're worried your kid is somehow going to be able to control you so easily to the point you just set up everything for him to watch TV all day? Seriously, stop being such ignorant idiots and realize the child or children are in your hands and need you tremendously when so young, you decide how they are going to grow up and mature for at least another decade till they're considered an adult, get your head out of your asses if there are people who actually think like that.

But what does everyone else think about this? I had to rant about this because the commercial and parents the world over for the most part seem to think their children can make them do whatever they want and it's despicable.

I think it's just a commercial. If parents in general are actually that stupid, well then, I think making a license to have a kid mandated wouldn't be such a bad idea. Btw? Link to commercial? I want to see just how bad this is.
