Is rock music officially dead?

It seems as though all of the great rock artists are dead or out of ideas. The awesome bands are in hiatus, and pop music is now more degrading and transparent than ever. And it is everywhere. The once great rock artists of the past few decades have mostly gone soft, and the "rock" music that I hear now is very digital and the sound is compressed. Very few bands can get that dirty, hollow, rock sound. So what does the flood think? Has rock music finally gone or is it just going through a bad phase? Also, feel free to share and recommend your own favorite bands that you think are restoring rock to it's former glory!

    I know what your thinking. Soundgarden are back and they now ride Segway's. Iron Maiden and AC/DC have completed the transition to naff-rock. Korn did an album with Skrillex. Ian Watkins is a pedophile. Kerrang thinks that All-Time-Low is a rock band. Linkin Park took their foundations and decided to "Burn it Down". Brian May has single handedly ruined guitar solos forever. Robert Plant has moved on to folk. Fred Durst has grown a beard. The Rolling Stones haven't weathered well. Your favourite punk princess...has married Chad Kroeger. And to top it all off...
Ozzy Osborne is still alive.
But wait...out of the ashes! They have come to Save Rock and Roll...
and it's only f#cking Fall Out Boy ;_;
Shit
