What's Stressing You?

What's currently stressing you out?
Tell me what's on your mind, what you're worried about, and how you're handling the stress.
Stress is a normal physical response to events that make you feel threatened or upset your balance in some way. When you sense danger—whether it’s real or imagined—the body's defenses kick into high gear in a rapid, automatic process known as the “fight-or-flight” reaction, or the stress response.
Three most common ways people respond when they’re overwhelmed by stress:
Foot on the gas – An angry or agitated stress response. You’re heated, keyed up, overly emotional, and unable to sit still.
Foot on the brake – A withdrawn or depressed stress response. You shut down, space out, and show very little energy or emotion.
Foot on both – A tense and frozen stress response. You “freeze” under pressure and can’t do anything. You look paralyzed, but under the surface you’re extremely agitated.

[i]Some[/i] foot on the break. Still a tad bit stressed, but I'm just kinda dealing with it and plowing through life right now. Currently trying to transfer schools from the top half of the country to the bottom half, deal with academics, muscle up for ROTC, etc... If I play my cards right it should all work out for me.

1 ReplyI had an excisional biopsy on my face a month ago and it left a scar. While the scar is alright and certainly manageable, at the bottom of it is a hard lump. It looks like skin... But I don't know. I did some research and found there are things called Keloids and Hypertrophic scars. And now I'm worried that I'm going to get one.

I emailed my prac teacher on Monday asking for a topic for the lesson I'm meant to be teaching this coming Wednesday and she hasn't responded yet (it's Saturday night). I've been trying to write an email to follow up on the lesson topic but everytime I've tried to write it I come off as super passive-aggressive. [spoiler]I'm not really stressed about it, but this is the only thing about life at the moment that I'm slightly concerned with.[/spoiler]

Don't have much time left before my job contract expires. Can't seem to reach out to people, despite how hard I try to push myself and talk to those I haven't in a while. I'd say I have my feet on both pedals. I want to do something, but I can't. I'm not sure if it's stress response or just overwhelming laziness.
