What is the one feature that either makes or breaks a first person shooter for you? I ran into mine today and, as a result, I'm returning the game..... no southpaw option. I can't play games in first-person that don't offer the ability to switch the thumbsticks.
3rd-person isn't an issue for some weird reason.

Developers removing content instead of adding it as additional so as to remove your ability to play with friends who didn't buy it in the hopes that YOU will talk them into it because the developer is desperate and hit a new low even like EA' standards. Yup. That's it right there.

Not a deal breaker but I'm down with any shooter that offers a cover system
-
Non-competitive, filthy casual ones. However, this isn't really going to be an issue anymore due to the demand for more E-sport titles on the rise. I would really love to see more arena style shooters again (Quake 3, Unreal).

Destiny. Will not be purchasing any subsequent DLC or sequels.
-
multiplayer only, i like fpshooters with a GOOD single player campaigns. + co-op even better.
-
Poor map design that promote camping and sniping
-
Input lag like BF3 had before the update.
-
Different sensitivity on the x and y axis that can't be changed.

Well if it's third person than it isn't an FPS.... But for me it's having some form of skill ranking system like the halo 2&3 50. Something to keep a team together and you motivated to do well. I play games without ranking systems as most don't have them anymore, but they never last nearly as long
-
For me as long as its fun ex: tf2 and killing floor
-
Shitty AI. You know, when the enemies just stand there, or don't react to their friends being shot. The other thing is terrible spawns in multiplayer.
-
Timed weapons, as in when a gun will expire after a while, and you have to buy it again. I can't stand that in fps'. Or in game purchases (not dlc). Those two go hand in hand.
-
The words COD on it
-
Speaking strictly about multiplayer, I need my FPS games to be relatively slow paced, have vehicles, and require an appreciable skill gap. There are really only 2-3 IP's that satisfy that for me.
-
Pay-to-win
-
Crappy story. If you are playing a game with a forced linear story like Far Cry 3 or Dying Light that is pretty crap and every action that your character does you disagree with making your character completely unrelatable even when that was not the storywriter's intention.
-
Non-competitive and unbalanced multiplayer.

Unyielding again bumping posts from 2013

Two things low Field of View and or a lot of Motion Blur just sometimes make me feel sick.
-
Not enough content Unbalanced MP Bad story Any number of things really. I guess I have a high standard for games nowadays.
-
Probably having a community of tryhards or playing with a mouse and keyboard (I am aware this is optional and I don't do it but i still can't stand it) I guess Counter Strike isn't for me huh?
