People who believe just to avoid a possible penalty don't really have faith. It's the single worst reason to believe in a god. Were I god, I would reject those who had faith as the 'safe bet' and only accept those who believed in the face of reason.

I wouldn't care, I don't spite God or any gods, I just don't see a reason to believe in them. If they exist and want to punish me then fine, punish me for a victimless crime. That's justice right?

Well, then its still a trillion-1 chance that the christian God is right. You got another trillion gods and religions to compete with.

Plus, I wouldn't feel silly because religious people don't come to the conclusion that an afterlife exists through rational means. It's similar to two people guessing whether a coin would land heads or tails, and the person who picked tails got it right even though the person didn't pick tails through rational means.
