The Godsquad
Chapter 4:
No Body To Burn
Knight opened his front door and entered his shack. He constantly had holograms of his dead comrades right across from his bed. He vowed to never forget the two members of his former fireteam. He kept their dog tags in his pack at all times. That way he could look at them whenever he needed strength.
Knight then looked in the mirror for the second time that day. He was sure his father would be proud of the Titan he was becoming. He was a Lieutenant. His armor had a silver exterior and a golden interior. It was called Prod He looked at the banner above his bed. It had a portrait of the greatest Titan he had ever known. His father. The portrait was signed Colossus The Mighty. Colossus had one of a kind armor called Fit for a God. The armor had three layers. The outermost layer was silver, the armor in the middle was gold, and the interior armor was diamond. His father was a General, the mightiest rank a Guardian can achieve. Most Generals sat back and commanded troops from their tacpad. Colossus fought on the front lines with his troops in hundred of battles defending the wall every day. He defended the wall until his final breath.
The last battle Colossus fought was against a Fallen General called Beast. This Fallen General was rogue. Beast was 8 feet tall and had 8 arms. Legends say he wore white armor that had become red with the blood of Guardians he killed. Thousands of fireteams tried to defeat him, yet none were successful. He obliterated all of his enemies with his LMG ‘The Lawnmower’. Colossus led a group of 20 Warlocks, and 3 Hunters on the day of this final battle. All of the Guardians he commanded were shaking with fear, however Colossus did not fear death. He had an amazingly simple plan of offense using the Warlock’s shields. Colossus ordered the Hunters to post throughout the entirety of the wall and begin shooting at the Beast. Colossus hid behind cover with the Warlocks and explained his plan to them.
A Warlock stepped out from cover and placed a shield next to the cover. Colossus and a Warlock step into the shield. The Warlock then placed a shield at the edge of the first shield before it vanished. This continue until they got within 25 meters of the Fallen General. They formed a wall. All the Warlocks made their shields vanish. Colossus yelled, “Push forward and open fire.” The Fallen General was then hit with bullets from 20 assault rifles. He got out his LMG and started mowing down the Warlocks. Colossus flanked the Fallen General as the Warlocks began to perish. Slowly but surely every Warlock fell prey to the Beast. By the time all 20 Warlocks were dead Colossus was standing next to Beast. Colossus started charging the most powerful spell he knew. Beast heard him charging this spell and threw his LMG to the ground and started punching Colossus with every arm he had. Colossus stood there and stood every blow with pride. Colossus was weakening. After what seemed like thousands of punches Colossus finally had the ability ready to use. He lifted his arm to cast the ability. He cast the spell right into Beast’s face and crumbled to the ground. Beast disintegrated from the point of impact. Colossus got to his feet. He got a FOTC flag and planted it where Beast once stood. After this last act of bravery Colossus dropped to the ground for the last time.
Knight was just a 5 year old kid saw that. He snuck out of his house to watch his Dad protect the city. He would never be the same after that day. His mom went insane after hearing what happened to her husband. From then on Knight took care of himself and never stopped in his crusade to protect the one place he would ever call home. Earth.
Knight looked at his watch 0715. Time to head to the market district.
