Guns get out of the hands of the citizens and then they can't defend themselves when the criminal gets their hands on the weapon. However, let the citizens free roam with the weapons, and it'll deter the criminal from performing criminal action (unless they're actually batshit insane). Even then, the batshit insane criminal will still be cut short of causing major casualties.
Anyone else agree or wish to expand on this topic?
*I do believe that gun owners should be registered. I wouldn't want every single citizen to be carrying a weapon.

All gun control will do is make it harder for law abiding citizens to acquire a gun, however criminals will not follow the laws and will get it, hence the name, criminals. Look at the shootings, done in 'gun free' zones. What would happen if they were to try a shooting in a gun show? Or even a place that not only allowed, but promoted conceal and open carry? I will answer it for you, the police would arrive but not to kill the sick -blam!-, but to identify the body. All of you who don't know about guns, look up pussified reporter 'shoots' ar15, and laugh your ass off, because that guy is wimpier than 5 year old girls that i know shoot ar15's. Then look up someone like IraqVeteran8888 cuz he knows his shit, or someone like Jerry Miculek. Not just so you can see the coolest guns, or world records, but to learn about something that not many people will take the time to learn about, but will try to have it banned in a heart beat.

Edited by Fat Man 3000: 10/3/2013 7:51:35 AMBoth extremes of gun control are retarded. Ultimate gun control, ban all guns? In a country like America where guns are completely wide spread, legally and illegally this would just leave nothing but the criminals with the guns. No gun control, everyone gets a gun free reign? Also dumb because psychos and criminals will be able to get guns much easier. The solution? Gun control to a point, much, much better background checks and mandatory gun training so there are no accidental deaths and people know how to use their own gun. This would also help with people being able to properly handle their guns so kids can't find it and use it.

So here is what i wrote Link

Registration leads to confiscation
-
No one that is smart is advertising a gun ban, which is pretty much complete gun control. For me? I support gun registration and gun safety classes. It's a step towards actual "common sense" gun control.
-
Like a gun ban? Hardly anyone advocates such a position.
-
Move to Canada. You won't have these problems.
-
Looks at the UK, Australia and New Zealand...... Gun control is fine. Aren't you tired of all the gun massacres?
-
Hahaha well you're not very bright. We've already draw a line. Non military cannot own highly explosive or automatic weapons (lethal weapons) just as Timmy down the bloc can't own a nuclear warhead. There's some criminal out there (Walter White) with a network and ability to procure even these banned to civilian weapons. By your logic, we better equip every household with a p90 because a criminal could totally get their hands on an auto ak. Being in an industrial design field; believe you me, I can fabricate a fully automatic lower receiver for a weapon. The idea between gun control, is that with more regulation (this doesn't mean things are just being taken away) the list of criminals getting their hands more easily on weapons will go down. Think about school shootings, a gunman isn't going to target a system that's heavily armed, their going to go somewhere they can cause massive damage. So the solution shouldn't be reactive, give more guns out, it should be proactive: make sure crazy doesn't get the gun.

Go on, take a guess.......

If every legal firearm and firearm owner is registered, then there is a way to ensure a minimum knowledge set, like a DMV drivers license. Sure, there still are bad drivers, but better than the alternative. It would also show where illegal firearms come from. We would know where they are stolen the most, and fix the problems.

-godwinslaw!- Germany had complete gun control. As does Chicago, looks how that's working.
-
how often do you hear stories, about someone who managed to save his own life using guns
-
Nobody cares!
-
Problem is that there is no way to know who the "law abiding citizens" are.
-
No, its totally a good thing; ya'll crazy gunmen who eat children and puppies for breakfast

Edited by Apprentice Taco: 10/2/2013 11:48:36 PMI don't really know but you can watch this!
-
Well if you look at all the shootings, the main problem is the shooter has some form of health issue. They have to look for that in background checks.
Anyone else agree or wish to expand on this topic?
Expand? Sure. You're entire premise is flawed and broken.
Gun Control = Not exactly a good thing.
No. The appropriate amount of gun control is a good thing. Take away the retarded Democrat bills to ban scary black assault weapons, cap magazine, and make owners disassemble their gun to refill the magazine and you're still left with gun control. Because background checks is a form of gun control. It literally is controlling who gets a gun and who doesn't. Abolishing all gun control means we get shit like what happened at the naval yard just recently. Somebody sold a gun to a deranged lunatic who is going to use it against innocent people. That specifically was due to the person in question being discharged and unfit for service in the military but still fit to buy a gun somehow and his background check not getting flagged and then waved through as not to cause problems when it was.
If citizens have guns, that'll discourage crime because criminals don't want to get shot.
This is where it gets better. This is a fine hypothesis to take. But as of the moment, we have no relevant data to back up that claim and a bunch of signs going contrary to this. Criminals may just escalate in response to people carrying guns. Shooting first and then looting. They may just become more careful to loot empty houses or stalk to ensure completely vulnerable prey. It may also cause a MAD situation between two citizens where one brandishes his weapon and the other response, creating a vicious feedback cycle.

Sigh..... so much derp

Edited by BADMAGIK: 10/2/2013 10:41:04 PMAn armed society is a safer society. Criminals are not mindless idiots. Sure, they make the stupid decision to commit crime, but think about why they use a weapon in the first place. It's because they believe they have the upper hand and it is easier to get the victim to comply. Criminals will not commit crimes on someone who they know is armed because they do not want to die. Do you see criminals trying to rob cops on a frequent basis? The answer is no. It is also a proven fact that criminals stay away from areas that are known to have a lot of registered gun owners.
-
My view is that everyone except felons, the mentally ill, and blind people should be able to purchase guns.
-
Flawless logic. We should that instead of evidence and facts.
-
Now. I don't believe that they should be handing guns out like its a free market :/ There should be files, fingerprints, whatever is required to do in a state.
-
nigga u dumb as hell
