I went into the basement to do some laundry, but I saw that on the stairs leading down. Apparently it's been there for awhile, but I just saw it now. It's a rat snake which means that it's not poisonous or even particularly dangerous, but I still don't really like snakes living under the floor. Like all wildlife, I'd prefer it if they stayed outside.

Just take it outside and chop it's head off

I hate snakes.

Edited by Amnesia: 10/4/2013 12:49:51 AMI hope it isn't keeping you from getting your laundry done, that'd be annoying! If it's getting rid of rats and mice (judging by its name and the general nature of snakes) I wouldn't consider it a big problem, as long as it isn't aggressive. Otherwise, I'd say call animal control.

I can't really tell from the pic, how long is it?

Oh, I have snakes that look similar to that in my backyard. Mine are called water moccasins and are highly poisonous and aggressive.
-
Poke it.

Awww, it's cute. Snakes rule

Crocodile Hunter that sucker. Grab him by the tail and place him outside.
-
Ever tried sssssnake? I hear it tastes like mmmmmmeat.
-
Don't kill him. He's the reason you don't have mice and other pests around ahahhha. If need be, pick him up and put him outside. I do that with copperheads all the time. Protip: Do not try to emulate my level of stupid. If the snakes are angry/agitated, leave em be.
-
Kill it with fire.

Cool.
