Agreed. I can make the fantasy role-play leap from human to alien but not male to female. Never did understand the appeal for some guys to play as female characters when given the choice. Although, Im completely not opposed to playing a female when she's the main character though, gotta love titles like Mirror's Edge, Metroid, Shantae, and Wet :)

I agree with your opinion and plan to play my own gender (male) when the game comes out, but I have some guy friends who prefer to play as female characters. Their reasons behind it aren't so much role-playing as it is female character models and aesthetics, like clothing or armor, are often better looking than their male counterparts. I think it's a proportions thing like male armor looking to bulky or oddly cut.

It's fine, totally understandable. It is just a game, so I guess it's okay if you ask me. Some girls do roleplay as guys but I think that's just odd.
