If the choice between male or female doesn't impact on abilities to a great degree, (eg. a male character may have more strength which may give him a significant advantage), I usually play a female character. Generally I like the looks of female characters more. But that being said, I'll have to wait until the beta is launched and I get into the character creation. It will boil down to the look/abilities that I think are cool and awesome! lol
