Waaaayyyy back in March, also, I recently swung by GameStop to put some more money on my pre order, and to get my beta code, but the guy said they were giving them out at a later date. can someone explain what the hell that was all about?

Edited by SnowboundSquid: 10/17/2013 5:53:53 PM>go to amazon >preorder >get code instantly >cancel preorder >repeat for all platforms >you are now the proud owner of 4 free beta codes............ (just to clarify, destiny beta codes are not platform specific)

Came back to the same gamestop, and got my damn code.

This is just my assumption, but maybe he meant that the beta hasn't actually been released yet; so your Game Stop might not release codes until it is out. But don't take my word for it, you should demand that they give you a code if I'm wrong. Just be prepared to prove it!

our local gamestop guy cheerfully added "getting the code doesn't mean you get in the beta, only select people will" :\ I just gave em the ole bad poker face and walked out. :|
-
That may not be entirely true. Because when I put in my code on the receipt it said that I was reserved for a beta and to expect an e-mail in 2014. This was 3 days ago.
-
sarcasm! That guy (the gamestop guy) is an ass about everything really. Sad that he's so uninformed.
-
Same with the guy that works at my GameStop. It makes me so mad! If you arent informed about nearly every game, or like games, then you shouldn't work there.
-
Thats not true. Use the code on the receipt to get your pre order. And even if he is right, WHO CARES!? At least you get the chance! When I put in my code on the receipt it said that I was reserved for a beta, and to expect an e-mail in 2014. This was 3 days ago.

He is a moron who didn't so his job. Go back and demand it because they have it.

I preordered at EB games( Canadian game stop) before the beta was announced, I then returned after the beta and asked for my code! The clerk told me that there were no codes and sent me away, I then went to another EB games in my city and explained this and that clerk printed me out a code on the spot! It was on a receipt she had to print so maybe ask them to do this for you?
-
I remember when the last EB games around me closed. /sigh Before that, it was a funcoland :X
-
I've never even heard of funcoland lol! Sounds like it could be a fun place though!
-
technically speaking, it was gamestop, just under a different brand, but still!
-
Dunno, apparently GameStop (and by association EB games) would email those who preordered before whatever date it was, and those who do it post date get it on their receipt. But I dunno, I'm still awaiting an email

Me neither, I appreciate the reply though!
