Yes. So worth it.

3DS XL
-
Yes, 3DS XL is the best option by far
-
If money is no object, Get a 3DS XL. The screen on it is larger than both the regular 3DS and the 2DS and every game I've ever played on it looks beautiful. It's worth it just for the extra screen size- I hardly ever use the 3D effect.
-
If you don't mind the pocket size you will need for the 2DS, then get that. If not, get a 3DS or XL 3DS.
-
The 3D isn't worth it. Save money and buy a 2DS. Now, the game is an extraordinary leap in graphics and technique, but the story mode is lacking (as per usual, save Black/Black 2/White/White 2) and finding things to do post-Elite 4 and post-all legendaries obtained can be difficult. Playing online, however, is a blast. I literally just played a rotation battle with an Australian girl and a double battle with a kid from The States. The character customization is greatly appreciated, and the animations of the Pokemon feel awesome; better looking than Pokemon stadium on the N64. If you're willing to wait, in December you'll be able to transfer all your pokemon from previous generations. But seeing as that probably doesn't apply to you, I'd get the game ASAP. Also, pick up Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. Fantastic games, probably my favourite out of all the games (I have been playing since Yellow).

3D isnt big in the game so if youre ok with that fugly ass 2DS then get that. a question about the 3D on the 3ds: does anyone else that wears glasses have issues with the 3d? when its turned on all the way its an eye sore and does not look 3d at all.

Edited by The Random: 10/18/2013 2:50:17 AMI got a regular (not XL) 3DS earlier this year just for Pokemon X/Y. And I must say, it was worth it! If you don't care about 3D, and want to save some money, I'd get the 2DS if I were you.

If you want a somewhat cheaper 3DS, Nintendo is selling refurbished units. It's a new venture, so not much of a selection yet, but should save you a good $20 or so.

The Torchic with the Blazikenite should be available until sometime in January, but check on Serebii or the pokemon website to be sure. Even if you buy the 3DS for Pokémon X alone, you give yourself the option to enjoy a great library of other games. Consider the 2DS if you are on the fence, as the lower price makes it less of a gamble. I think the games are great. I bought Y as soon as it was on the eShop.

i did. my game and 3DS should be here tomorrow :)

I bought a 3DS XL just for these games, it was worth it, battles look great, the 3D world is great, although there's not much post game content which is a bit disappointing.

no the story is terrible!
