It shouldn't. I'n supporting you guys. Gay pride and such. I'm straight so I don't play as a girl. But for you gay guys that do, I completely support you.

  • I get that you're trying to support the transgendered/transsexual or gay community and that's really nice, I think your intentions are good. But playing a video game as a different gender is a far cry from wanting to get your anatomy changed. Consider that it's role playing, not surgery. I've played plenty of games as different genders just to hear the male actor's voice and to see how he captured the character. I do not want to become a man in real life, and playing as a male character doesn't make someone gay either (if we were to use that logic, shouldn't boys be playing with Barbie and girls be playing with G.I. Joe to "prevent" homosexuality? ). I don't know who came up with these weird rules but clearly there was something they were overcompensating for. (Please note that when I used the word "prevent" I was actually referring to the people that believe if a child plays with a certain type of toy or wears certain colours they will become gay. This is not based in fact but in ignorance.)

  • I know three guys who default to playing female characters. One recently got married to a woman. One has a girlfriend. The third is gay. All three feminine in nature. The girls I've known to play male characters were masculine in nature. If there were a personal factor involved in what gender a person chooses for their avatar I would think it be less about sexual orientation and more related to personal psychology; namely the anima and animus.

  • It's an interesting subject to be sure. My fiance (who is tiny, 5'7 115) Almost always makes bulky super manly characters in any mmo we play. I pick based on animations & armor appearance generally. (or if the males are just.. fugly models. human males in wow anyone ?)
