Edited by Conservitards: 10/20/2013 2:11:07 PMWhen it comes to harassment and verbal assault, no. Telling something they are a useless piece of shit and should go -blam!-ing hang themselves means you should -blam!-ing take your own advice. Also when it can be dangerous to numerous people, as in yelling "Fire!" as a joke in a movie theatre

Complete, unrestricted freedom of speech? No, I do not.
-
It is part of the fuking Constitution! So yes I support it. If you'r in America, you have the right to speek what's on your mind, even if its offensive.
-
Yes. All freedom comes with responsibility and consequence however. Either you are free or you are not, there is no "and but if".
-
To a point, People should be able to express their ideas openly but people going around using freedom of speech as an excuse to be racist/homophobic/unpleasant can shove an iron bar up their arse.

Edited by Jim the Admin: 10/20/2013 7:48:29 AMI saw someone calling this a s hit post but we had this discussion in our Government class and 16 of the 25 students in my class agreed that "Free Speech is nice and all but only if it isn't offensive." Which frankly shocked the crap out of me. They advocated censorship for subject they deemed offensive. 12 students even said they'd support a law preventing religious activists from protesting publicly. 7 of the students also agreed that major news networks shouldn't be able to report "controversial" news. I will support free speech till my dying breath, which will probably be something along the lines of "the holocaust was a lie".

Yes. As long as I have the freedom to stomp on the faces of people who use that right to tell me people don't deserve it.

Edited by Mr SexBot: 10/20/2013 7:42:10 AMOnly if it only applies to me. Why should everyone else get the benefit of being able to share their stupid opinions without punishment? Especially when my opinions are the only ones that are right.
