It's stops the harasser from bothering the person. Lastly, think about this, what I was saying this whole time is that what you are doing won't stop anyone from harassing girls,people who do that just want attention, if the girl just mutes him he won't get the attention that he wanted. Someone who would threat other people that way wouldn't have the sense to listen to you. It's logic not being an asshole.
