HOLY BALLS I got my first shiny Pokemon. It was...
A Weepinbell.

I put 100-200 hours into many of my old pokemon games, and I've only ever seen 2 shinies. I didn't know one was shiny at the time, so I just ran away. The other shiny I caught, it was a Sandshrew. (It and it's evolution are some of my favorite first gen pokemon too! Although I never did train it at all)
