It's a very short read but, basically analysts are suggesting that the video game industry is projected to surpass Hollywood in global profitability.
I have to admit, I'm a little surprised by this news. With what I had seen as all these studios being absorbed and shut down, I felt as though the gaming industry was in a rough patch. I suppose it's actually more of an issue that game development is a very tough (yet rewarding) business if you can manage it. We spoke with our wallets, and the industry will follow suit...
Maybe we won't just be seeing more video games adapted into movies in the future, but better ones as well!

The video game industry is becoming steadily more like Hollywood anyway, in that they both now have ridiculously inflated development costs and, as such, are afraid to take innovative risks.
