Armor lock is an innovative feature that was one of the many things that made Reach amazing. It allowed you to protect yourself from damage, and it punished unskilled players. For example, usually someone in a g host would try to splatter someone in front of him instead of using the guns on the ghost to finish him. Instead of the ghost getting an easy kill he is blown to bits. I will never understand why people thought it was over powered.
