He's lost basically all of his loved ones to hazards and enemies like The Fallen and the only thing he really has to cling to is his thirst for revenge and his brothers and sisters in arms in his fire team. I feel like this song fits the feeling of Desperation and struggle I'm the game and my character. Also, I think it's just a good song.
