It's probably my favorite fictional-universe all said and done. If I could live in the universe of ME1 instead of my own, I'd take it in a heart beat.
While the aesthetics of the sequels never really resonated with me as much as the first game, I did enjoy the stories, and even though I wasn't always interested in where it went, the writing was still leaps and bounds above most games.
Contrary to damn near everybody, the final sections of ME3 were probably my favorite parts of the trilogy. Hate all you want, but it takes balls to do what they did.

As a whole, a solid series, kinda wish there was more dialogue actually

Edited by OmegaCircuit: 12/8/2013 12:17:32 AMIMO, ME1 was great. It had a good story and characters and great sci-fi atmosphere. Unlike most people, I also enjoyed various aspects of its gameplay (like planetary exploration and the side quests). As an overall experience, I thought ME2 was even better, since it improved upon most aspects (more hubs, side quests with truly unique areas, more variable dialogue choices, better final mission) and had great characters and a really epic feel to it. Unfortunately, the plot was mediocre. As for ME3, well, it was a massive step down in almost every category from my perspective. I'm not sure I've ever been more disappointed by a game.

Well, I don't really know you, but you seem like a cool guy
:P

Hate all you want, but it takes balls to do what they did.
What exactly took balls? Failing to conclude a story properly?

Edited by Simseo: 12/7/2013 7:10:26 PMME1 is brilliant, one of my favourite games. ME2 is pretty good, story was meh compared to ME1. ME3 was alright, story was utter shit, where the flying -blam!- did a kill all reapers appear button from, and why has it only just appeared? Multiplayer was fun, but slowly got repetitive. Combat was good.

ME1 was best.
-
Decent enough, but way too many -blam!-ups in every aspect to make it worth remembering.
-
Hands down, favorite story/universe of any game. Even over Halo.
-
I really liked it probably one of the best stories in gaming and Bioware said ME3's ending can be interpreted however you want it to be and I believe the indoctrination theory makes sense which makes it even better. Also having the same character that was personalized by you for like 7 years and then letting go is a really sad thing.
-
I enjoy it just sometimes i can stay focus on it.
-
I can see why you'd want to jump into a fictional life instead of living in your actual, it's like me with halo and skyrim.
-
See, I came into this thread expecting it to be another parody thread about you, and since the ME was capitalized, I was going to make my response about Mass Effect. However, since the thread is actually about Mass Effect, I have no idea what to do.

The Mass Effect series honestly may be one of my favorite series only rivaled by Halo. The action was fun, the story was great, and the feels...man, the feels. I've got to admit that Mass Effect had me more emotionally invested in the characters more than any game I've ever played.
-
I really like the ME games. Even the 3rd was good, except the endings (which were bad, but no where near as bad as the internet went all sensationalist about).
-
I don't think its full potential was realized, not even close.
-
It was alright. I could only do about two playthroughs before the story became a bit stale for me. Its one of those games that I have to be in the right mood to play.
-
That picture is sexy. One of my favorite aspects of the whole series was being able to watch capital Reapers just walk around the terrain in the distance. It was simply amazing everytime you saw them. Absolutely love the series. It´s easily among my top 3, almost taking Halo out of first place. I´m dying for more information on ME4.

Mass effect has to be one of the greatest video game trilogies of all time. Minus the last 10 minutes atleast
-
Mass Effect 1: A good classic style RPG with a few flaws but otherwise great. Mass Effect 2: Uses a new style of RPG which has more action than the previous and deeper characters. I prefer this game over all three. Mass Effect 3: Exposed more of the ME universe and was a nice story but wasn't as good as the last two. Too many RPG elements were cut out. While some new features were great, the RPG elements should've stayed.

6/10 series. Every game has a mixture of Really, Really shit elements and really, really good ones (Plus, I find it hard to care about the universe)

10/10 almost posted: "go to offtopic"
Hate all you want,
Oh believe me, I will.
but it takes balls to do what they did.
Not really. They lied to the fans, had TWO PEOPLE instead of a revered writing team write the ending, refused for months to make it better, and if I'm not mistaken it eventually led to the retirement of their CEO. Aside from the benefits to charity and the community coming together, nothing good came of that.
