So curious about the co op in destiny

So how is the co op going to work. heard about fireteams consisting of six players but break up into two squads of three players. is this right?

I think that competitive multiplayer will be more than 3 v 3 too.

No a fireteam is a group of three, but you can team up with other fireteams to do stuff like raids and public events.
