There's something broken up on the hill.
It's whirring and clanking, but ever so still.
If you cover your ears, it seems so serene.
But something is wrong. Something has been.
Poetry is awfully dull. I prefer treasure, but not the kind giving pleasure. I give myself to the red kind, substitute the gold. Gold's gild is all old anyway, cracks growing green like mold. I can see the gold falling apart, splitting into finer grains of sand; they slip through my fingers, greedily crouching I now stand and go to the darkness. The red stuff waits for me there, and I can serve my madness, grinning amorphous, speaking mouthless, a fine old friend named Burgess.

Let me be your controversy Can I dance upon your earthy Eyes of fog and indiscretion? Let me toy with my invention Leave your happiness aversion To such joy you'll be my virgin Let me show you skies of blue That smile only when there's you
written in Latin class when I was 14.
