Something quick I did in Calculus when I was bored, haven't finished it. Kinda like a Western-themed Warlock. It has arms and some shading and other details now, but I can't think of a helmet to fit with the rest of it.

  • Y'know who that reminds me of? Only the most badass character in all of Fallout.

  • Did you use a reference or straight imagination? I really like this. The armor on the knees is my favorite. It's all very clean and catching. I'd suggest making helmet designs on separate paper until you create one you like

  • Here it is. Still no helmet, but the arms are there now, and the revolver more or less. I like the idea of using just a shirt under the armor, and the dark pants with the yellow (just lighter, in this case) stripe down the seam like the Union uniforms of the time.

  • This is excellent. The shading is smooth, proportions are correct, and the detail is fantastic. I'd love to see more of this character in drawings. Perhaps something dynamic? The armor design is simple but still very eye catching. Awesome job man.

  • It's kind of hard to replicate armor designs like that since I'm making them up as I go along, so I don't really ever end up with identical drawings of the same idea. As far as dynamic goes, I don't have that much on hand at the moment, but here's a couple even quicker sketches for speed armor, based on what I know from experience that running on the balls and toes of your feet allow for a dramatically faster sprint.

  • It looks like the character's left leg shows better what you're trying to convey. What's the on the bottom of the foot? I'm curious The design is great though. I'm horrible at creating armor so I'm a bit envious of you Is the "shoe" of the armor fixed in place so they're forced to run on the toes/balls?

  • Yes. There's a part running from just behind the heel, out away from the sole of the foot, and then rejoining at the toe. The area between the sole and the support is empty, cutting down on a little weight. The angles are placed so when the user is standing/running naturally in them, it gives the same effect as being on their toes, so the user wouldn't have to be on their own toes inside the armor to get the same sprint.

Straight out of my head. No reference use except for finding the Warlock emblem to stick on the belt and chestpeice. I'm not quite satisfied with it, but then again I was only using it to practice proportions. Gimme a minute and I'll get a quick picture of the current sketch.
