So who here actually EARNED the Recon armor?
And I'm not talking about unlocking it from the Vidmasters.
I'm talking about how Recon was worth getting. Back when you had to impress Bungie and have them personally send you the armor to your account.
The Recon Armor lost its appealing factor when you could unlock it through Vidmasters. Now since everyone has it, its just as worthless as any other armor set.

I don't get why people are so mad that Bungie let everyone earn Recon. It was 2009, Halo 3 was a year away from losing the spotlight, it was time for them to let everyone earn the armor that everyone wanted.

Doing all those vidmasters is earning recon. Those vidmasters were a pain.

4 RepliesI unlocked it through the Vidmasters and barely wore it. I was too busy with my Rogue helmet and Katana that I still wear to this day. Also, Recon (for me) lost it's appealing factor the moment it was given to someone who got killed by a traffic cone.

Yeah it makes me sad that they gave it to everyone. The least they could have done was make the easy vidmasters harder and not ended up giving the armor to everyone. I remember when I got recon from the vid masters and people were like "wow omg"

The vidmasters were earning the armor. Getting it given to you from Bungie was nothing more then getting lucky. That said the original reason I made this account was to claim my recon in Halo 3 after completing the vidmasters.

Edited by burritosenior: 1/19/2014 12:23:38 AMYep, I earned it. Unlocked all the Vidmasters which took hours of time as opposed to how most people got it before ODST, via Bungie Day and just getting lucky. Good thing Bungie decided what constituted 'earning' it and not you!

I completed 6/7 vidmasters then gave up. So no, I never earned it. I remember in 2008/2009 I was obsessed with wanting to earn it though.
