I've beaten it and I've collected all of the rare weapons to finish up my achievements about a year ago.
I played some pvp for a while but ever since I havent really gone back to it. I'm just waiting for dark souls 2.

Yeah, you need it for the knight's honor (I think that's what it was called) achievement. I just smashed the demon after I got into new game +.
