I've stopped on Dickstein and Ho for now, focusing on school.

[i]F[/i]uck. So I'm playing through on a Paladin character essentially, so naturally I want the Paladin armor. Well, Paladin Leeroy stunlocked me in one of the narrow corridors by the cliff face and killed me. No Paladin armor for me this playthrough.

Can't edit on the app, but I'm a doop. He always invades as long as you're human (oh yes, I checked!). Whew, alright, time to go again!

But I flaked as Ornstein was at a sliver of health, tried to run back heal up with Estus, and he lightning bolted me in the back. Much rage. Who did you kill first?

It wasn't too bad. I had the ring of favor and protection I'm pretty sure. Besides that I used the elite knight set with havels ring so I could fast roll.

>Havel's Ring It's almost always on one of my fingers. Those light rolls in medium armour... Oh yeah. I'm always afraid of putting on TROFAP (holy shit, what an acronym) because of the breaking when it comes off :(

Hey man, it's my first playthrough too... And I haven't beaten Ornstein and Smough (though I got most of the way through the game with a few acquaintances on New Years). Do you play online?

I also have to play Offline, but the online experience is much more enjoyable IMHO, it makes everything a bit easier because of more people, a little suspenseful about invasion, and you can swim in humanity. Not to mention that most of the factions have PvP components and sweet rewards. I'd highly recommend playing Online.

Edited by burritosenior: 1/27/2014 4:33:58 PMIf you just want to beat the game, kill Ornstein first. If you want to [i]perfect[/i] the game, kill Snorlax first. This is because Snorlax is easier to kill, so you want to kill him first so on your first playthrough you can fight the hard guy and not have to fight him New Game + where he's much harder. This way you get both armor sets easier (whomever you kill last, their armor set becomes available for purchase near Firelink).

Mmmmmmmm... Ornstein armor... Leo Ring (although I just want it to complete the ring set I have). I [b]did[/b] almost beat them fighting Ornstein last, I just did something stupid and I'm taking a break now for school. They'll die, eventually.

Go for Slims first, as Pikachu's second form is much easier than Slims' (unless, of course, you want Domhnall to sell Ornstein's Set instead of Smough's, in which case you'll have to kill Smough first).
