Poor man's Ferrari?
Would getting a 1995 Toyota MR2 GT be worth it?

I have never thought this even remotely resembled a Ferrari. If you are getting one because of that premise, you are only fooling yourself. If you want one because you like it, buy it. Not because you are trying to fool a couple unaware people that it may be a mini Ferrari. That would be a total waste of funds.

If you get one, get a turbo so you can have Toyotas brilliant 3sgte engine. If you get a base model swap out the 5s and get a 1mz V6. Just be careful because these are known to have snap oversteer.

If you want a fun mid-engine car on the cheap, go for it. Just don't act like it's a Ferrari.

It'd be a fun sporty car, but don't expect it to be anything close to an F355. You pretty much get what you pay for and if you want to experience a Ferrari without the price just rent one.
