The US government says it will seek the death penalty against Boston Marathon bombings suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
US Attorney General Eric Holder said in a statement: "The nature of the conduct at issue and the resultant harm compel this decision."
Seventeen of 30 charges against the 20-year-old carry the possibility of capital punishment, including using a weapon of mass destruction to kill.
The bombings killed three and injured more than 260 in April 2013.
Mr Tsarnaev has pleaded not guilty and no trial date has been set.
Is ending him the best punishment?
EDIT: Wow the Flood has some varying opinions on this hehe.

He didn't care when he killed multiple people in cold blood. Why should I care if they kill him? Dude's a dick.

Edited by FatherlyNick: 2/1/2014 1:42:40 PMWe kill people who kill people, because killing people is wrong. #lawLogic
-
Obama deserves the death penalty too then
-
Edited by Raptorkid24: 2/1/2014 2:40:00 PMNo. Life in prison.
-
I'd prefer they be forced into sexual slavery for the Obama family. His every sexual action will be videotaped and sent to me for terroristic evaluation.

Death Penalty. Seriously that shit is a joke, there should be no waiting line, legal euthanization, or anything. It should be either the electric chair, hanging, or a bullet through the dome. Call it a day then and there instead of him living off American Taxpayer's money until trial is over and he inevitably pleads insanity like everyone else does.
-
I'm usually against the death penalty, but I can see why people want it for him. I won't actively disagree with killing this one because of the extreme circumstances.
-
Wow...that happened in April? Time sure flies.
-
Edited by FalconStickr: 2/1/2014 3:48:25 AMSounds good to me

BURN HIM AT THE STAKE
-
Solitary confinement would do more damage to him.
-
Put it in his butt!!!
-
What's that going to do? Stop acting like children we don't need even more deaths.
-
Boston Bomber should meet the Bay Harbor Butcher. I say kill him, he is worthless to society and the human race, plus not a single cent of tax money should go towards providing a jail cell for him.
-
Yes it is. If he's dead, than he can't cause anymore harm. "Mercy to the guilty is treason to the innocent."
-
Pointless. The State does not have the power to decide who lives or dies. Besides, it wouldn't be an effective punishment like life in prison. Also, we'll never know the whole truth of what happened.
-
Sounds good to me.
-
i don't like death
-
I really don't care
-
Lock him up in prison for life. The death penalty should be abolished.
-
I just don't like the idea of the government choosing who lives and dies no matter who it is.
-
So he becomes a martyr? No. Let him rot in prison. You have no idea how valued martyrs (shahidan) are in Islam.
-
Two wrongs do not ever make a right.
