Will you still be buying it for 30 or 40 dollars?
You know guys... I am the biggest mgs fan ever but... this is just not a good deal.

Maybe this is just GI being idiotic but who knows.

Shall Gamefly it.

Following reports that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes can be completed in less than two hours, Kojima Productions boss Hideo Kojima has addressed fans on Twitter. “MGSV: Ground Zeroes includes the main mission alongside 5 side ops,” Kojima said. “All missions include elements such as ‘Trial Records,’ where players can compete against each other online. This is not a linear game like the past. “GZ offers freedom of approach and play style, which we hope players will enjoy over and over without boring. I believe people will be satisfied with the ‘play time’ of GZ and will not stress the “clear time,” which is a standard for linear games.” Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is due out on March 18 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. It will cost $30 on current-gen consoles and $40 on next-gen consoles. Welp. Looks like I will be buying it.

Can anybody tell me why they are releasing this small game before Phantom Pains? Why don't they just put this in Phantom Pains?
-
Not good at all
-
This needs to be added.
-
I can beat most games in under two hours including Dark Souls so this doesn't bother me.
-
So how much of that is cutscenes?
-
I thought it was going to be $20.
-
ITT: people thinking there is actually only 2h of gameplay. It's 2h of STORY MISSIONS. That doesn't include all the side and extra missions that will be present as well. It will easily go above 5h. That said, I'm going to wait and get it all together with The Phantom Pain.
-
2 hours? Dear lord only an idiotic fanboy would buy this.
-
Gamers bitch about 100 dollars extra for xbox... Justify paying 40 for a demo... The stupidity here is atrocious...
-
I'm disappointed by this, but I need to know more. How much will the Extra Ops add to the game and how replayable is it? The latter is especially important because even if the game is short, if it's a fun experience and makes me wanna come back and play it again, then that makes it worth it. Using the Tanker chapter from MGS2 as an example, it was a very short mission (takes about two hours first time through), but I replayed it a ton of times. There was a lot to do, from experimenting with the then-new game mechanics to collecting all of the dogtags. I played it so much that I have the entire layout of the ship completely memorized. If Ground Zeroes is as replayable as the Tanker chapter was to me, then I'll gladly pay 30 dollars for it.

I've gotten more playtime out of console demos...

Edited by Infiltrat0rN7: 2/5/2014 2:30:58 AMStill on board the hype train, it's all 'bout dat extra ops meh boi
-
Why is this even necessary? Why can't we just have Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain as one thing? I'm still going to have to buy it. Remember this is excluding side missions.
-
Still buying it. I will replay it several times, plus all the extra stuff in it. Reading the entire gameinformer issue gives me more hope. Did you know you can go to your friends bases that they built, and they can come to yours?
-
Edited by Elrond Hubbard: 2/5/2014 4:32:30 AMTo be fair, it's only a prologue, but still, that is ridiculously short, and people have every right to go apeshit if it's sold for $60.
-
lolk well eidos, better hurry up with deus ex universe. gonna be waiting until the phantom pain to actually pick this one up.
-
yeah. will you buy the Phantom Pain when it comes out next year?
-
That's terrible. 40 bucks for a 2 hour long prologue? Not to mention MGSV is gonna cost 60 dollars on top of that.
-
Half price for half a game?
-
Its next gen MGS, worth it. This franchise deserves the money.
-
Not counting extra ops and other stuff?
-
Exactly what I worried about.
-
$40? I wonder how much it will be in foreign countries.
-
Lol but "Titanfall won't have enough content for me, I'll get MGSV instead."
