In one of the photos I saw a type of cat sitting near a guardian. Does that mean there will be tame-able animals/pets?

Are you referring to the photo with the snow leopard? If so, I think I remember Bungie saying that this was a theme they were playing with in early concepts as it was 'just so badass' but that it is no longer included in the actual game. My memory may elude me though.
