When do you think alts will start getting banned?
The day of the rope is coming for us, fellow alt-users. I fear that it will be too sudden to prepare.

1 ReplyI think the answer to this issue lies in coming up with ways for users to value their primary accounts rather than coming up with more reasons to ban people.

12 RepliesAlts aren't against the rules. Even I have one that I use for archiving old groups. As long as you're not using said last to break any rules, or another alt to bypass a ban, it doesn't matter.

9 RepliesAlts were never against the rules. By provoking and saying "we're going to start banning alt account" would only entice those who use them frequently to use them even [b]more[/b]. You'd be pouring gasoline on a small fire. It's not a problem like you're making it out to be.

6 RepliesEliminate the use of free email services for registration and you drastically reduce the alt problem in one motion. (Though there may be negative side effects that I'm not considering with this proposal) Alts used in fun don't really bother me. But impersonation and ban-dodging is a real issue. Even more so when people openly flaunt it by adding "banned" to their original names. But if we can notice the problem, so can the web team. And I don't see this being allowed to continue for too much longer. We'll just have to sit back and wait to see what the next update brings.
