Let me get this straight: the games I get free with PS+ are only playable for as long as I keep paying for PS+?
Talk about a loophole. Bastards. Good news is, the bundle I have my eye on comes with PS+. :D

With the quality and amount of games they give you across 3 platforms, why would you ever want to cancel? I mean if you are fine with paying for Xbox Live you should be happy to pay for PS+. Its an incredible value. Besides Sony has frequent sales with greater discounts for PS+ members too. Like Crysis 3 or Arkham Asylum for 5 bucks, those you keep.
-
In other news, you can't watch movies on Netflix if you stop paying either.
-
It's always been that way. Since it started. Even though the games are older, it's why I've loved Games with Gold for LIVE over PS+'s "free" games. With G4G, the games are on my HDD (well, 2tb external HDD, but you get the idea). Even if LIVE gets shut off or I happen to lose service, I can still play those games as much as I want. With the games I've gotten for PS+, if I quit playing or PSN goes down, I can't play any of them because Sony doesn't let me actually own the games. And people said MS's DRM was bad... lmao At least with MS's DRM, I'd still own my games. By the way; everyone is singing the high praises of Playstation Now (or whatever Sony's streaming service for all PS games is called), but I wonder if they all realize that there is an additional cost for that over the cost of PS+, and then you don't even get those games if PSN goes down or you quit paying for PS+. Bet the Sony-drones won't ever mention that little flaw in the plan. lol

Yeah but think about it. You save money on the free games they give you. I'm alright with 50 bucks a year.
-
Edited by DE4THINC4RN4TE: 2/12/2014 5:56:54 PMThat's the difference between what Sony and Microsoft do with their "free" games. You keep the Xbox games. You essentially rent them from Sony.
-
Lmao I'm no fan of Microsoft but at least they actually let you keep the free games they give you.
-
Edited by Tartan 118: 2/17/2014 8:52:52 PMBasically, I have 14 days in which to enjoy most of my games (Outlast, Resogun and Don't Starve) until I go down to just Shadow Fall. Dafuq.

Edited by BasementDoor: 2/13/2014 10:27:21 PMIt's cOld as gOld in here and quite bOld as - -blam!- it this is old news op.

Welcome to digital distribution.
-
sounds reasonable to me. How many games do you get per month and how much does PS+ cost?
-
I argue that GwG is better simply because of the fact that you get to keep the games forever. Assume each game is only $1.00; that's $24 of free games that you're able to keep forever. Add in that I get 12-year Gold cards when they're $30 on Newegg and I'm only paying $6.00 a year for Gold.
-
Rather old news either way it's still better than lolGWG
-
Fairly good trade off considering PS+ gives you games that aren't 6 years old.
-
Hasn't this been known for forever? I remember this being mentioned months ago.
-
Both have pros and cons, neither are for me though. With PS+ you get access to every game that was offered for free, but you dont keep those titles and they become locked when your ps+ subscription ends. With XBL gold you dont get access to previous titles you missed that were offered, however any title you do download you own and can play them for as long as you like. PS+ does give out better games for free however every single game thats been offered so far on both services i already own or i dont care enough to download it.
-
Games with gOLD and ps+ are both shit
-
Do you even ps+ bro
-
Edited by Jordy: 2/12/2014 8:04:43 PMPs+ is worth every cent, if you only got a ps4/ps3, purchase all the games anyway, one day u might own a vita and will have a huge library thanks to Sony's generosity
-
If you quit paying for your Netflix, do you expect to still be able to watch movies?
-
Edited by Banned Tyger: 2/12/2014 8:22:22 PMeveryone has know this like, forever. Why would you let your ps+ lapse anyway?
-
gamecube 2600 is the only good console
-
Well considering you'll need PS+ to do pretty much anything, it shouldn't be an issue. You'll keep buying it.
-
If you're paying for PS+ year-round and don't plan on stopping it's a good bonus. Personally, if I want a game enough I'll just buy it. I like having a library that will always be there.
-
Still better value than Games for Gold. A free game isn't worth anything if it's not desirable enough to play. That said, neither XBL nor PS+ are worth the money.
