Gaming in 10 years... Ermahgerd da futur!
What do you think gaming will be like in 10 years?
Do you think a lot will have changed? Consoles failing thus only PC's being used? More attention towards virtual reality? More consoles?

The thread's title made me think of the time back in the year 2004, when I was amazed with Far Cry's graphics, and about all the speculation that suggested that gaming will be total virtual reality till 2010. Didn't happen though.

Maybe some voice communication thing, like an extreme evolution of Siri, that would allow you to have conversations with the AI in the game. My wishful thinking...

7 Repliesgames will be digital only, despite the tyrannical US internet overlords having the same cheapskate infrastructure as now and no-one outside of major cities having true highspeed internet available. games will also be only viewable with facebook and steam and origin login, DNA scans and an analprobing to login to your Oculus Rift 20.0 replacement eyes and jacking your brain into an ethernet revision 12 cable and installing an anti-virus on your cyberbrain.

1 ReplyI think the whole microtransaction/DLC phase will be long gone as it will probably backfire on devs. Games will try much harder to be realistic by using VR.

You'll have to buy the entire game in segments. Each level will be packaged separately that you must download. You can only play it when connected online and signed into your profile for that publisher's account. You mandatory camera-motion control device on your platforms hardware will ensure you are the only one in the room playing. It will cost additional fees to have additional people in the room. The game will not function if the sensor is blocked. This is the future of gaming which means it is inherently a good thing because it's progressive. Anyone who doesn't like it needs to get out of the way and stop whining.

It'll have built in vibration functions. And the difficulty of games will be translated directly to how hard you are at the time. So if you're flacid.... you're gonna have a pretty easy time at things. But if you're not..... you'll soon be flacid from the frustration of the increased difficulty. They'll also have, a co-op attachment, so you can use your buddies dick as a secondary "thumbstick" It'll be called the J-Box.. Maybe the D-Box. Flight Sims with lots of explosions will become the new fad in gaming, removing FPS's from the throne.
