Seriously, I want to play this game competitively and beat other players so it can be fun. Why aren't there any MLG teams wanting to make the game more competitive? Because it's a casualized game made for people without thumbs.
If it's competitive, I'm sure as hell this game will sell hundreds of thousands of copies more. All that needs to happen is change a few rules in PvP and you're all set. Discuss why Destiny would be better when it's competitive.

This game is designed for all moods casual, hardcore, etc.
-
No, this game is made for explorers. Titanfall is the game made for filthy casuals.
-
Destiny will have space for the competitive people, but it's not going to turn away the casuals either. It's all about bringing people together to play a great game, not excluding people you don't agree with.

The MLG is cool and all, but they like to take anything that could be considered overpowered and ban it from use in tournaments. That one team that comes up with (hypatheticaly) the suicide nova bomb and the healing move combo that became so popular among players may get put to a halt because the MLG banned the nova bomb, a good solid move used by many guardians.

I wouldn't say dirty. Maybe mildly dirty.

Um I take a shower everyday, sooo I think I'm pretty clean

Edited by user_043: 2/22/2014 7:06:40 PMWhat is your definition of "competitive?" And for starters have you even played the pvp? Have you heard anything more than the hints alluded to in podcasts and weekly updates? I'm genuinely curious as to what rules you are talking about. Just because the MLG isn't eyeing this title doesn't mean anything. Frankly no one has much of anything concrete to go off of at this point in time. You should wait for the beta before making any assumptions, because all I seem to hear about from Bungie is talk of competitive multiplayer with an occasional interview with someone involved in very vague happenings and destinations in the world.

1v1 me in Halo, rockets only I bet you suck kid.
gitgudscrub
Edited by The Wolf: 2/22/2014 6:42:42 PMYou're fuking stupid, go back to playing CoD.

MLG is more pathetic than any causal will ever be.
-
How is PvP not competitive?
-
Bungie is making the playlists just as customizable as they were in Halo 3 and Halo Reach. If you want a super hardcore pro playlist for you and your competition I am sure Bungie will have it.
-
Not even been signed up here for 2 weeks, yea seems like your a bit to casual :P
-
I'm sure they'll put in a mlg matchlist for the more competitive pvp players, but the pvp aspect is not the primary focus of they game, its one of the many things that bungie is trying to focus on...this game is the first one of its kind and it has room to become more than what anyone has come to expect or imagine from it

Oh dear, another one to watch out for. Enough said...

MLG teams are looking at Destiny. Quite in depth in fact. The really competitive teams are trying to glean what routs to take (from what we've heard) in order to get the better weapons we know to be available in order to gain an advantage in PvP play. Who said competitive teams don't have thumbs? That statement makes no sense. There are many competitive modes to this game. Have you paid any attention at all at the Pentathlon? C'mon, man. There'll be plenty of competitive play. Maybe not all the standard PvP that we know of, but even that'll be there. They've already said how things will be different, and I for one, look forward to the new types of gameplay available for those of us who want a competitive experience.
-
Whoever said that competitive play is the only way to have fun I'm pretty good at competitive games but I prefer story line over the repetitive me ass whooping mostly mlg players with nothing but my bare fists this was in halo reach and it was top ten in the world for assassinations legitimately for quite awhile before 343 got their dirty paws on it

Co op IS the new MLG Time 2 get gud
-
Well seeing as how Destiny is built, it'd be difficult to find any appropriate MLG settings. Your best bet would be finding an already existing game, or look for a game in development with the MLG sport in-mind.

Edited by DiPolarPilot: 2/22/2014 6:14:58 AM1: Ehem how do you know this game won't have a strong competitive MP scene? 2: Define 'casuals' please. 3: What features have 'dumbed' this game down? 4: Do you care at all, even a little, about Campaign, Strikes and Raids? 5: Who the heck died and allowed your opinion to become a fact Bungie and others have to pay serious attention to?

fuk ya lets get competitive boy
-
Due to the lack of experience I have, and I'm sure you don't either, with the game we can't say for sure. It looks fine as a primarily story driven co-op experience with some PVP to keep things fresh. Either way play what you like and don't play what you don't, there is no reason to down a game for being what it is .
-
If you want lolmlgmode go play a game that is actually out for starters. You don't know how competitive it will be because it's not out yet.
-
I'm sure there will be more people like us that love the competitive scene soon, but for now people will be more interested in the mystery of open world. I can see why, this still doesn't mean the game isn't going to be highly competitive.
