most of you probably know of banksy, the guy who does a lot of creative and politically motivated graffiti and street art. what do you think he is? an artist, or a vandal?

Both. I'd like to see more people mess up his work to see how he reacts.

Edited by Oneironaut: 2/27/2014 11:00:15 AMTechnically speaking, he's both. It may be art, but if it isn't his property or he wasn't given the okay to do so, he's vandalising. Ergo, he's a vandalising artist. On a side note: that particular one is very cool.

I'll let it slide considering he's actually good at what he does. Unlike the "gangsta's" who buy a couple cans of spray paint from Home Hardware and put some stupid ass symbol that looks like the drawings of a severe epileptic on a municipal mailbox.

Why can't be be both?

Is it on his own property? If not then no matter how cool it looks, he's a vandal.

Usually I'd happily put a bullet in graffiti 'artists', the ones who spend all day spray painting huge chav letters all over the side of buildings in nauseating colours. Banksy is different though, he actually puts thought into his work and doesn't leave an eyesore when he is done.

Technically both.

Edited by Capitons Wang: 2/26/2014 8:57:59 PMArt is in the eye of the beholder. The fact you even asked the question, invalidates your right to ask it.
