For a time Bethesda considered while developing Skyrim to make it a co-op game. They later struck that idea down to make the best possible single player experience they could. This speaks to a market of individuals who'd love (such as myself) a cooperative TES game.
So what do you think? Does the Elder Scrolls Online MMO fit the bill or would rather see something more like Borderlands? What is your vision of Elder Scrolls co-op?

i'd rather see something like borderlands. They could also incorporate a PVP arena with different level tiers.

Here's a copy-paste of my reply to a similar thread many weeks ago: No. No. No. No. Please. No. TES thrives of a strictly solo experience. It doesn't need any kind of coop feature. That'll do more harm to its identity than good. The best parts of the TES series are made possible because Bethesda decided not to go near multiplayer/coop. I seriously hope they don't even consider this... They'll ruin something that was already perfect. It happens too much in video games. They start experimenting and they destroy the game. Everything in the game will have to be designed in such a way as to account for the fact that there can be multiple players. No. This is not what TES is about. Please. It's not as simple as it sounds. It's not as simple as "dropping in another player". So many limitations will be set. There will be major differences. Even if the coop is made as a side option the people who play it purely solo will have to deal with the shit caused by that option. Single player will have to be tailored to account for the fact that you CAN turn the option on to avoid any exploits or screw-ups. And say goodbye to mods. YOU are meant to be the sole player influencing and interacting with the world. This is what TES is about, for shits sake. Add another player to the mixture and BOOM, it's completely f*cked. /rant

Edited by Big Slappy: 3/6/2014 2:01:56 PMI don't really like the idea of an Elder Scrolls MMO. I'd rather have one of their single-player games just the same with co-op.
