Model aeroplane, that is (:)
After a long period of procrastination I finally finished building and painting my model AT-6 Texan. This is the first time I've attempted to paint any of my models, and to make it even more challenging I tried to weather the model too! The goal was to make it look neglected, so I attempted to give the glass and body an appearance of built-up grime, and the paint an appearance of peeling/wear in certain spots.
I also wanted to install an electric motor to animate the propeller, and instead of painting lights onto the model I wanted to install small LEDs. I managed to do both, but I couldn't fit a sufficient battery inside, so I wired it to an external one.
I'm not very happy with how it turned out though, so I cut the wiring for the battery and strung it up outside a window where I can watch it sway in the wind. The two (Australian) two-dollar coins you see attached to the bottom are for balance, because I did a dodgy job of stringing :s
I know some other B.netters have made models in the past. Let me see some pictures :D
