why aren't all of the peaceful followers standing up against the radicals? Is it because they support them?

Terrorism is a part of the religion for some, there are some who believe in jihad, basically resulting in a situation like "the right to bear arms" in the US
-
I suppose the Muslim protection of praying Christians during the Egyptian revolution counts for nothing. Besides, no religion is a religion of peace.
-
The same reason you don't see Americans standing up to idiots that put us into 2 unnecessary wars. The media never shows it so it gets swept under the rug.
why aren't all of the peaceful followers standing up against the radicals?
I've never met a Muslim who doesn't hate terrorists as much as anyone else.

There have been several cases where Muslims protect Christians from extremists. Muslims are mostly nice people as far as I can tell.
-
It depends. Some Muslims like shooting people in the face.

Religion for me, personally, is unnecessary. People always ask me why I don't believe in a heaven and hell. I guess in some sense, I don't need them to exist; don't want to believe. I don't want to justify my actions in the hopes of a reward, nor do I want to make excuses for the things I've done. I want to perform good deeds not for reward, but because it is the right thing to do. The way I see it, when I die, I'll face my maker with no regrets or complaints, and I'll take what's coming to me.

Because they just want to go on with their lives like normal people.
