So we all used to watch those wonderful cartoons when we were younger and whenever a plane would fly by or go down you would hear that familiar shrieking plane sound. Well what we were actually hearing was this baby, the German Ju-87 Stuka dive bomber with its siren equipped, whenever it dove the sirens on its wings would emit a piercing shriek designed to terrify and demoralize those on the ground (They were often called "the Jericho trumpet"). I always found it funny that one of the most prolific icons of blitzkrieg is used in a child's cartoons haha.

You can see the little propellers above the landing gear, those are the sirens.

I always thought that was the sound of the plane's engines when it flew over. I never thought it was a siren.
