They've not developed for a Sony in well over a decade - it's only obvious that they would release the Beta to them first: As a way to find bugs on those consoles that they are not familiar with, and get a new fanbase on new consoles.

The Xbox and ps4 have identical software architecture. The only difference is the ps4 has more horsepower.
