I do not understand how so much anger can be made over Putin annexing what is rightfully his by democratic process, when millions suffer and tens of thousands of humans perish in Syria. The lives of 100 European protestors carry more weight than over 100,000 civilians harmed in the Syria crisis?
[quote]Over the past three years, more than 100,000 Syrians have lost their lives in the escalating conflict between forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad and those opposed to his rule. The bloody internal conflict has destroyed whole neighbourhoods and forced more than nine million people from their homes.

Putin had the right idea, support the winning side and end the bloody conflict as fast as possible, but then the West stepped in and prolonged conflict.
How can you do these things?

What happened is what the US would do if a state tried to secede, we'd take it back. They took the Cremia which was rightfully there's and was where they had their navy and a large Russian population. But, they had to let the Ukraine break away or they would face more severe sanctions. It's tough luck for Russia, as they lose a major state of their federation. Ukraine was were all the natural gas pipelines go through and is a huge chunk of land and is a buffer zone
