I'm REALLY looking forward to this game. The action, the gun play, the competitiveness.. Bungie already has my money.
But as I'm looking for a game that can absolutely consume me.. and knowing that Destiny is going to be a 10 year franchise on par with WoW... you have to realize that combat isn't going to define Destiny on it's own.
What kind of other activities can we expect going forward in Destiny?
Crafting?
Trading?
Bartering?
Auction Houses?
Not just hunting.. but gathering? (fishing, mining, herbalism, ect ect)
10 years from now my son will be 14. And about then is when I'll introduce him to shooters (maybe earlier, we'll see how it goes).
I guess it gets me thinking.. What kind of non-violent activities will Destiny have that I can share with my children over the next decade?
I have a BIJILLION shooters on the consoles right now I can play. I'm really hoping that Destiny has WoW levels of depth to it. I want this game to be how I introduce video games to my children.
Besides "shoot things"... What do you think Destiny should have which would give it the depth needed to last the next ten years?
If you've read this far, I look forward to reading your answers.

Well for one, if the ground vehicles are as robust as I hope they will be, racing will certainly be a big non-combative activity.
