Anyone else notice a severe lack of dark spirit invasions? Maybe this is because the brotherhood of blood covenant is semi-hidden behind an optional boss. Whatever the case, I'm tired of not being able to find anyone to protect whenever I'm a knight of the blue.
How many of you guys are actually invading? I think I'm going to make a character specifically for invasions to hopefully influence more people to do it.

Soon.

I'm literally always invaded at Heide's ruins, and never anywhere else for whatever reason.
-
Make sure you're set to cross-regional play. You'll get a few laggy duels but it's not a huge problem.
-
I'm at Ng+6 lvl200 and I'm getting invaded ever 10 bloody minutes.
-
Edited by ABotelho: 4/14/2014 12:03:07 AMStill early though. Invasion places haven't really been set either. A lot of people are still trying to beat the game.

I've only really got invaded in The Shaded Ruins but I invade people with any cracked red eye orbs I have. I'm in the sunbro covenant so I don't have the actual red sign soapstone.
-
The problem with invasions is the accessibility of cracked red eye orbs, and the lack of significant rewards for successfully invading. They should make cracked red eye orbs available for purchase on NG for the normal 10,000 and on NG+ or higher give a discount to the orbs so that invasions are more constant on NG+. They should also give a reward for defeating the host because currently there are no short term rewards from the brotherhood of blood. The reward should be Old Radiant lifegem with a 20% chance of it being an effigy or something similar.

Edited by Failure4Life: 4/11/2014 3:17:25 PMThe reasons for lack of Red invasions. 1. There are the same amount of invaders but now everyone, human or not, can be invaded. 2. There is no Red Eye Orb 3. Cracked Red Eye Orbs are a bitch to stock up on. If you want to see PvP, before starting NG+ kill at least 10 NPC's... And then proceed to cry as arbiters shove various blue things in you. I think the best way to increase invasion rate is to make Red Eye Orbs purchasable and have the Blue Sentinel ring make you invade as a protector no matter where you are (Similar to the forest in DaS1).

I haven't gotten invaded a single time through my entire playthrough I think. I am currently on NG+ and just beat the Skeleton Lords. I've invaded maybe 2 or 3 people. The lack of pvp was disappointing for me, but I didn't do Dark Souls 1 PvP until after I beat the game so it wasn't a huge shock for me. But no I don't think it's because the Brotherhood is hidden, because the Darkwraiths, Darkmoon Blades, and even to a lesser extent the Forest Hunters were somewhat hidden.

Tfw no Xbox Live :/ Oh well, makes the game safer I guess.

Edited by Orion: 4/13/2014 7:54:51 PMEveryone must be invading me because it happens all the time playing as my co-op sunbro. And being dragged into someone else's world when I'm going through Doors of Pharros really pisses me off. I wish there was some way to opt out. I just want to co-op and PvE. Why won't they leave me alone?
-
Oh yeah, invasions never happen, except when I explicitly don't WANT them to happen. Last night after I beat the Old Iron King, I somehow managed to get killed with 89,000 souls, and was on my way back to retrieve them when I got invaded by a tryhard and lost all those souls. >:|
Anyone else notice a severe lack of dark spirit invasions?
Try Heide's Tower of Flame. Got invaded twice within minutes.
-
Anyone who wants to invade just goes to the bell towers. Red eye invasions just aren't worth it.
-
I've been invaded by dark spirits quite a bit since I went to NG+. Now that I finished it, however, the invasions have mostly stopped.
-
I've only been invaded by a Bell Keeper, never any dark spirit invasions.
-
That would probably be because let's face it, invading someone without being summoned leaves little rewards. You get a token which you can use to invade again, and a wee little bit of xp. And that's it. You've got to buy all your stuff in order to invade folks. So, let's say you invade someone and get killed, that was a wasted token, and you gotta buy another. And that shit's expensive. The only reason there is to go out and invade someone is because you want to. That's it. You literally get nothing in return for it. And, as a result, the covenant that was focused on counter invading sits in a corner gathering dust, because guess what? Way of the Meek is a pretty shoddy covenant. You don't get anything from it. It would be cool if they did something where you ranked up based on defenders and their victories, and gained more tools to influence your world to help defend yourself. But all you get is a ring. And that's it. A covenant that needs two covenants to function was kind of a silly choice made by From.

Create a sin. Arbiter spirits will attack like flies then.

Go to iron keep's bridge if you want pvp

Edited by A Cheese Potato: 4/11/2014 12:15:51 PMI have been doing a lot of invasions myself, and yeah I would agree, it seems as though it doesn't happen often. A lot of people are unprepared for it as it seems to be so rare still. And most of the time a blue protector never gets summoned in, no matter how long the fight goes, so I'm not sure if maybe not many people are in the way of blue either. I've still probably fought more people by willingly summoning them from the red soap signs / dragon remnants, than being forcefully invaded.
