Epic Games appears poised to reveal the future of Unreal Tournament Thursday, May 8, at 2 p.m. ET in a Twitch stream, according to multiple Tweets from Epic employees today.
Epic Games VP of product development Paul Meegan tweeted that those interested in "the future of Unreal Tournament" can tune into the UnrealEngine Twitch channel at that time.
"You want to know about the future of #UnrealTournament?" Epic co-founder Mark Rein wrote asked on Twitter. He also included hashtags for #FirstBlood and #UnrealDev, just as Meegan did. Dana Cowley, Epic's marketing manager, also tweeted with the First Blood hashtag, and included a link to a YouTube video from user CoDxForCe. Posted in 2011, the two-second video speaks the phrase "first blood," which plays after the first kill in a map.
YES! The UT games are SO much fun to play, but they're all kind of dead now (except for UT 2004). Either way, a new UT game is long overdue, so I'm very excited about this.
Well that is awesome, however I will remain skeptical. Most shooters that have been released in the past few years have been massive disappointments. Though if they keep to the unreal formula it should be a fun game, and a refreshing change of pace from the current fps's out there.
