Over by a Dunken' Donuts, I noticed that there were official Police Lines placed on two or so Parking spots, just outside the front door too. I would've thought something had happened if I hadn't figured out they were being used to reserve parking spots. This is at a pretty busy square too, so you'll have an occasional fight over a parking spot.
What I'd like to ask is if you think this is alright to do? I personally think it isn't right, as it just puts Cops above civilians but that's just me.

Edited by ZUON: 5/5/2014 10:50:49 PMOh God, no! Anything but giving cops special privileges! It's not like they see mangled corpses, children losing their parents, making the hard arrests, being in shootouts wondering if they'll see their family again, dealing with assholes, and have a shit-tier payout for your protection. I mean, all they care about is drug enforcement and stoping people going five over the speed limit right?

Since always.

Cops are above civilians. Civilians can't perform arrests. Civilians can't perform traffic stops. Civilians can't conduct investigations. They have more power and authority than you and I do
-
cops are great

I believe it is to increase their business. Also, they put them near the door so if a call comes in they are closer to the car, so they can get to the scene faster.
-
You got a problem with officers, mate?
-
y'know what you should have done? approached the officer with tazer knuckles in hand and place him under citizens arrest when he complains just say very calmly ideally in a thick greasy southern European accent "this... is no right" you will be invincible
-
If you want me to take you seriously, become a cop and then bitch about some pissant parking spots.
-
If its in a dunken donuts parking area they can do whatever they want. Where i work we tend to bump any emergency personal to the front of the line (cops, paramedics, fireman). Not because they are entitled but because we don't want them to get an emergency call before they get their order.
-
If I were a cop I'd probably do the same thing.
-
Since business owners realized that having a few cop cars parked out front is a good idea.
-
COPS ARE SIMILAR TO SOLDIERS. THEY PUT THEMSELVES ON THE LINE FOR YOU. THEY HAVE TO SEE SOME MESSED UP CRAP. THEY DESERVE THOSE SPOTS. WHAT DID YOU DO TO EARN THAT SPOT?
-
Two other possibilities come to mind right now. First being that there is an important person coming later so they need to be sure there is a spot. Another being the business plans on doing some construction/repairs so they need space for maintenance vehicles. This one is more likely, and is a very common practice.
-
Well they do serve your country and protect you and all your ungrateful countrymen. Not to mention that they have lain down there life every time they put on their badge, since they never know how everyday will play out. Is a little thing like that so much for them to ask for? Just the other day some caring officers gave my grand mother some directions and showed their concern for her since I guess she was lost. Anyway point is.
bitch about sumthin else son
-
Since they have to deal with shitfaced morons all day everyday. Giving them a special parking spot for doughnuts is hardly the police state in action.
-
Hey man keeping the streets safe is a tough job, if they want a doughnut let them have a doughnut.
