July seems a bit late in all honesty, after all the game launches on Sept 9...

Well, think about it, if it was in May or June, wouldn't it get old after a while?
-
No. Have the beta run for a month or so before taking it down and setting to work reviewing commentary and deciding what needs to be fixed.
-
But normally Betas run until the game comes out, and they update as the Beta runs and they get feedback.
-
Was under the impression Betas were for set periods not til launch.
-
Well the Titanfall Beta was.
-
Titanfall beta didn't run til launch.
-
Well, a few days before launch.
-
The beta is all network testing for them. It's not about game balance it's all about code smashing!!!
-
I agree.. I would not have guessed it'd be out so late.. Kinda gives off the impression Bungie in a little pressed for time, I'm assuming a lot though.
-
I personally expected Mid June (ie post E3) to Mid July, with the remainder of July and all of August for Bungie to make changes and fixes.
-
I trust Bungie is given themselves enough time to polish the scratches out found during the Beta. There have been very few "smooth" launches of multiplayer based next gen titles.. Titanfall being about the only excellent example. Let's hope, and trust, Bungie delivers the goods day 1 without many hours or days of server mayhem and bugs!

I certainly hope Bungie have left themselves enough time and the Beta doesn't end up being more a server stress-test rather than a true Beta.
