Will Destiny not reach its potential?

I really wonder if destiny would be a better game if they didn't put it on the last-gen consoles. To even out the games content and make it playable for the 360 and ps3 will it have to hold back from what it really could have been if it where only on next-gen hardware aka. The lack of memory and graphics it saddens me to think the game could have been better and its not even out yet...

The instant install-base for last-gen is still to gigantic to be ignored. It's going to take at least one more Christmas (if not two) for AAA Developers to truly step away from the 360 and PS3. Bungie needs a HUGE community rallied around this game. WHY? Because Destiny's potential, its main selling-point, is centered around the social, co-op, and persistent world elements. Features that require warm bodies to work properly. Destiny #2 is a different matter. But for now, Bungie needs as many people as possible to get a taste of Destiny. To insure the franchise's future prosperity.
